Man United and Chelsea FC keen on signing 24-year-old – report
Man United and Chelsea FC are among the clubs keeping tabs on AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli, say reports
Manchester United and Chelsea FC are both interested in signing AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.
Italian outlet Calciomercato, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, is reporting that both of the Premier League clubs are interested in bringing the 24-year-old to England this summer.
The same report, though, says that Man United and Chelsea FC are likely to face competition from the likes of Juventus for the signature of the AC Milan star.
The story confirms that Manchester United are indeed on the lookout for a new central defender this summer as the club begin to think about bolstering their squad in the off-season.
However, the same article says that Romagnoli has turned down moves away from the San Siro in the past and would be willing to do so again.
Romagnoli has scored two goals in 20 Serie A games for AC Milan so far this season to help them up to fourth place in the table.
Chelsea FC could also be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements after a mixed first few months under Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues missed the chance to win their first trophy under Sarri on Sunday when they were beaten on penalties by Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley.
