Stan Collymore sends warning to Liverpool FC about Man United clash
The former Liverpool FC striker is worried about the Reds' title prospects ahead of Sunday's trip to Manchester United
Stan Collymore has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool FC can forget about the Premier League title if they lose to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Merseyside outfit will take on their bitter rivals in the Premier League as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to end Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s impressive start.
Manchester United have won eight of their last nine Premier League games under Solskjear, only dropping a point in a 2-2 draw with Burnley.
Liverpool FC were 3-1 winners against Manchester United at Anfield in December to bring to an end to Jose Mourinho’s two-and-a-half season spell at the 20-time English champions.
Klopp’s side have struggled to produce their best form in 2019 so far but Liverpool FC have remained unbeaten in their five league games since a 2-1 loss at Manchester City.
Former Liverpool FC striker Collymore believes the Reds will struggle to get their hands on the Premier League trophy if Manchester United are victorious on Sunday afternoon.
“Against Manchester United on Sunday, I fear the damage a defeat could do and I’d go as far as to say all bets are off in terms of the title if should Liverpool lose that game,” Collymore wrote in the Daily Mirror.
Liverpool FC are looking to win their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment in October 2015.
The Reds have lost League Cup, Europa League and Champions League finals since the former Borussia Dortmund head coach replaced Brendan Rodgers.
The Merseyside outfit have finished in fourth place in their last two seasons under Klopp.
