Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard could be in contention to return from injury for Manchester United’s crunch clash with Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Sunday, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the pair could be set to be fit for the crunch clash against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Old Trafford this weekend.

The report comes after Red Devils interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that he expected the duo to be out of action for “two to three weeks” after having picked up injuries in the defeat by Paris Saint-Germain last week.

The same story says that Martial’s groin problem and Lingard’s hamstring injury are not as serious as first thought, and they could even be fit to take on Liverpool FC this weekend.

The duo have been in solid form for Manchester United and their returns to the squad would be a welcome boost for such a key game this weekend.

Solskjaer has been earning plenty of praise for the impact he has had since taking over at Old Trafford from Jose Mourinho back in December.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in the Premier League since his appointment and they currently find themselves in fourth place as they chase Champions League qualification.
