David De Gea demanding £350,000-a-week at Man United – report
David De Gea wants £350,000 a week to sign a new contract at Manchester United, according to reports
David De Gea is refusing to budge in his £350,000-a-week wage demands before signing a new deal at Manchester United, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the talented goalkeeper is holding out for that figure before putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract with the Red Devils.
Those wages would make him the second highest-paid player at Old Trafford behind Alexis Sanchez, who earns around £400,000 a week, according to the same story.
According to the same report, De Gea has told Manchester United chiefs that he is prepared to commit his future to the Old Trafford club – but only if they match his wage demands.
The story says that Manchester United are reluctant to go that high with the wages but they remain confident that a deal can be struck between the two parties.
Manchester United have triggered a one-year extension to De Gea’s current deal, which is now set to expire at the end of next season.
The 28-year-old Spain international has been a consistent fixture in the Manchester United team this season and he kept another clean sheet in the 3-0 win at Fulham on Saturday.
