Patrick Kluivert names Man United striker who FC Barcelona should sign
The Dutch legend believes FC Barcelona should consider a move to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford
Patrick Kluivert believes Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford would be a great addition to the FC Barcelona team.
The England international has been in brilliant form for the Red Devils since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in December.
Rashford has scored six goals and has made one assist since the former Norway striker took over the reins of the 20-time English champions.
Indeed, Solskjaer has managed to get the best out of the 21-year-old striker to allow Rashford to rebuild his Old Trafford career following a frustrating spell under Mourinho.
Rashford has less than 18 months left to run on his current deal at the 20-time English champions.
FC Barcelona forward Luis Suarez is in the twilight of his career, prompting talk of possible long-term successors for the Catalan side.
Former Netherlands striker Kluivert believes Rashford would be the ideal signing for the La Liga champions.
“I like Marcus Rashford, a lot,” Kluivert told Sport360°. “It will be really difficult to get him over.
“But he is a good player.
“I don’t see a lot of players who can play in Barcelona. [Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, perhaps he can play.
“There is not a lot. Maybe some players who can play in La Liga, young players.
“But for me, I think the best one is Marcus Rashford.”
Rashford burst onto the scene at Old Trafford in the second half of the 2015-16 season under Louis van Gaal.
The English forward scored twice in a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in his Premier League debut at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old won the Europa League and the League Cup under Mourinho but there was a sense that he never produced his best form with the Portuguese coach in charge.
