Man United want to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Manchester United are set to prioritise a move to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are set to make a number of new signings this summer as executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward begins planning for the transfer window.
The same story says that signing a quality central defender remains a top target for Manchester United, but that the Red Devils will also look to make a move for a new midfielder.
According to the same report, Marouane Fellaini’s departure to China, along with Fred’s disappointing debut campaign and the uncertainty about Ander Herrera’s future, means that Manchester United could well look to land a new midfielder this summer.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a number of new players in the coming weeks and months head of the summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will remain in charge beyond the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing to travel to Chelsea FC in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.
