Luke Shaw has admitted that he and his Manchester United team-mates are relishing their showdown with Liverpool FC in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils are preparing to host their bitter local rivals at Old Trafford as they look to continue their brilliant form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United head into the game fresh from having secured an impressive 2-0 win over Chelsea FC in the fifth round of the FA Cup last week.

Liverpool FC, meanwhile, were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday night.

Shaw admits that the rivalry between the two clubs is stronger than ever and he is looking forward to facing Jurgen Klopp side.

Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Shaw said: “This is the biggest and best game to be involved in. Of course, we know how well they’ve been doing and how big the rivalry is between the two clubs.

”It’s one that everyone wants to be involved in. It’s always close to your thinking because of how big it is. It’s a really exciting thing to think about.”

Shaw also praised the impact that interim boss Solskjaer has had since he took over from Jose Mourinho back in December.

He continued: “It’s just amazing to look at the job Ole has done since he came in.

“How much he has turned it around and how much the place is in a positive way now.

”You know, Ole does it at the right time [shows another side to him]. He knows how good we can be and, if we’re not up to his standards or the standards of Manchester United, he will certainly let you know.”

Manchester United are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they seek Champions League qualification for next season.
