Sky Sports pundit reveals his prediction for Man United v PSG
Charlie Nicholas looks ahead to Man United's clash with PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night
Charlie Nicholas is tipping Paris Saint-Germain to hold Manchester United to a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils are preparing to welcome the Ligue 1 champions to Old Trafford in the first leg of their last 16 clash as they look to try and continue their fine form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United have won 10 of their 11 games under the Norwegian since his appointment as the club’s interim boss following the sacking of Jose Mourinho back in December.
The Red Devils are back in the top four as they look to seal Champions League qualification and their stuttering form before Christmas seems like a distant memory.
Former Arsenal star Nicholas admits that he feared for Manchester United before this tie, but their recent form has caused him to reassess their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “When this draw came out, I gave Manchester United no hope – but now, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, I think it could go either way.
“The absences of Neymar and Edinson Cavani are a huge blow for PSG and a boost for United. Cavani would have caused them a tonne of problems.
“United must take a lead into Paris, and Paul Pogba has been in immense form. He must do it on nights like these.”
Manchester United will return to FA Cup action next Monday night when they travel to Chelsea FC in the sixth round of the competition.
The Red Devils will be looking to continue their fine form in the Premier League and their next game in the top flight is a home clash against Liverpool FC on 24 February.
