Paul Merson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to keep up the pressure on the Premier League’s top two with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs head into the game looking to make it four wins in a row in the Premier League as they look to keep up the pressure on Liverpool FC and Manchester City at the top of the table.

The Lilywhites currently find themselves five points behind second-placed Liverpool FC as they look to try and keep themselves in the title race.

Leicester, meanwhile, head into Sunday’s game in stuttering form, with the Foxes having won only one of their last five Premier League games.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes that Sunday’s game will be a tricky one for Spurs, but he is tipping the north London side to eventually claim all three points.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “This will be a hard game for Spurs as Leicester have been competing and doing well against the big teams – those sides have a go at them and they can counterattack with the pace of Jamie Vardy, while you also have James Maddison and Demarai Gray in support.

“However, despite this being a tough test, I do still see Spurs falling over the line again… they keep on winning, which is the main thing for them – you do not get any extra points for winning 6-0.”

Tottenham will host Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash at Wembley next Wednesday night as they look to take a step closer to the quarter-finals.

They will then return to Premier League action with a trip to Burnley on 23 February.
