Arsenal keen on signing 21-year-old right-back this summer – report
Arsenal are keen on a deal to sign Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, say reports
Arsenal are keen on a deal to sign Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the north London side are “desperate” to land the 21-year-old this summer and could be prepared to offer players to sweeten the deal for Palace.
According to the same report, Arsenal could include the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Reiss Nelson in a bid to land Wan-Bissaka this summer.
The same article claims that top Arsenal scout Brian McDermott went to watch Wan-Bissaka in action last week as the Gunners look to try and bring him to The Emirates.
However, the story also says that Crystal Palace are likely to demand a fee in the region of £40m for Wan-Bissaka, which could prove a problem for the Gunners.
Wan-Bissaka has been in fine form for Palace this season, notching up two assists in 27 Premier League games for the Eagles.
Given that Maitland-Niles is widely regarded as one of Arsenal’s most promising young talents, it seems somewhat unlikely that the Gunners would be prepared to let him go as part of a deal for Wan-Bissaka.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to Premier League action on 1 April when they host Newcastle United at The Emirates.
