Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in moves to sign Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that both of the north London clubs are keeping tabs on the 27-year-old ahead of a potential move to sign him at the end of the season.
According to the same story, Schar’s performances for Newcastle United this season have caught the attention of both of the north London clubs as they begin to prepare for the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has scored three goals and made one assist in 18 Premier League appearances for Newcastle United so far this season.
The same article reports that both Arsenal and Spurs had expressed an interest in bringing Schar to the Premier League before he joined Newcastle from Deportivo De La Coruna last summer.
Arsenal are likely to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Unai Emery prepares for his second season in charge at The Emirates.
The Spaniard has been tasked with steering the Gunners back into the Premier League’s top four this term, with Arsenal having missed out on Champions League qualification for the last two seasons running.
