Arsenal are interested in a summer move to sign Atletico Madrid winger Gelson Martins, according to a report in Portugal.
Portuguese media outlet A Bola, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that the Gunners are interested in a potential swoop for the on-loan Atletico attacker.
The same article states that Arsenal were interested in a loan move for the 23-year-old in the January transfer window but missed out on a deal after Martins moved to AS Monaco for the rest of the season.
According to the same story, the Gunners are willing to make an offer to both Atletico and Sporting Lisbon to end a dispute about his transfer after Martins left Portugal for Spain last summer.
Martins has been regularly linked with a move to sign Martins over the past three or four seasons but a deal didn’t come to fruition.
The Atletico winger has scored three times and has made one assist in seven games in Ligue 1 since his move to AS Monaco from the La Liga giants.
Arsenal ended up signing Denis Suarez on a loan deal from FC Barcelona in the January transfer window.
However, the Spanish midfielder has failed to impress since his move to Arsenal despite starring under Unai Emery during a brief stint at Sevilla.
