Arsenal have reached an agreement with Ituano FC to sign wonderkid Gabriel Martinelli, according to reports in Brazil.

Yahoo! in Brazil, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners have already put a deal in place to bring the 17-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

The same article states that the Europa League quarter-finalists will pay £5m for the Ituano FC teenager’s services in the upcoming transfer window.

According to the same story, Martinelli has been attracting interest from a number of top clubs around Europe and even had a trial with Arsenal’s bitter rivals Manchester United in 2017.

However, the same article claims that Arsenal have wrapped up a deal for the teenager and now the Gunners are waiting for Martinelli to obtain an Italian passport before the transfer will be made official.

Unai Emery has enjoyed a largely positive first season in charge of the north London side after the Spanish head coach took over the reins from Arsene Wenger last summer.

Most of the Arsenal manager’s signing so far have been experienced player, aside from players such as French youngster Matteo Guendouzi and Uruguay international Lucas Torreira.

Martinelli would be the youngest signing of the Emery era so far if a deal for the Brazilian comes to fruition.
