Jose Mourinho states his prediction for Bayern Munich v Liverpool FC
Jose Mourinho is tipping Bayern Munich to dump Liverpool FC out of the Champions League next week
Jose Mourinho is backing Bayern Munich to knock Liverpool FC out of the Champions League next week.
The Reds head into the game looking to claim victory after the goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg last month.
Liverpool FC have endured something of a wobble in the Premier League title race in recent weeks and they have slipped behind Manchester City in the top-flight table.
The Merseyside outfit reached the Champions League final last season and they will be looking to earn their place in the quarter-finals when they travel to Germany next week.
However, former Manchester United manager Mourinho does not believe that Liverpool FC will progress and is instead backing Bayern to knock the Reds out.
Speaking in an interview with RT as quoted by Metro, Mourinho said: “I see Bayern, in spite of up and down season, I see them now on the up.
“With the morale of Borussia Dortmund losing consecutively and them recovering positions even in the Bundesliga. And I see Bayern as a team that can score goals.
“If I had to choose, I wouldn’t bet on pounds, but if I had to choose I would choose Bayern.”
Before Wednesday night’s game, Liverpool FC will focus on getting back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Burnley at Anfield.
The Reds are still searching to win their first major trophy under Klopp since his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October 2015.
Liverpool FC have only lost one game in the Premier League so far this season.
