After a goalless first half in which Chelsea FC looked largely in control, Everton took the lead at Goodison Park when Richarlison headed home the opener in the 49th minute.
The Toffees then doubled the home side’s lead in the 76th minute when Gylfi Sigurdsson scored at the second attempt after his penalty was saved.
The result has dealt a damaging blow to Chelsea FC’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season, and it left them sixth in the table and three points behind Arsenal in fourth.
And former Manchester United defender Neville feels that the Blues will be severely frustrated by the result.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville said: “They [Chelsea FC] will be hugely frustrated going back to London tonight, thinking about how they’ve missed an opportunity, with that first half in particular.
“The game was there for the taking and they let Everton off.”
Chelsea FC have only won two of their last five games in the Premier League to leave their hopes of finishing in the top four in serious doubt.
The west London side – who finished fifth last season – will return to Premier League action on Sunday 31 March when they travel to Cardiff City after the international break.
