Chelsea FC set asking price for Eden Hazard after Real Madrid bid – report
Chelsea FC want a club-record fee of at least £98.5m for Real Madrid target Eden Hazard this summer, according to reports
Chelsea FC will seek a transfer fee of at least £98.5m for Eden Hazard this summer after rejecting a bid from Real Madrid for the attacker, according to reports in Belgium.
Belgian outlet HLN, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Real Madrid made an opening offer to try and sign the playmaker this week, but it was swiftly rejected by the Premier League outfit.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC will hold out for a world-record fee for Hazard before thinking about letting him leave this summer.
The 28-year-old’s current contract at Chelsea FC is due to expire at the end of next season and he has not yet shown any intention of signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
According to the same article, Hazard “wants” to join Real Madrid and was “excited” to see the Spanish club make a bid for him.
However, it goes on to say that Chelsea FC will not listen to any offers below £98.5m this summer as they look to bring in a club-record fee.
Hazard is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talents, with the Belgian playmaker having scored 13 goals and made 11 assists in 29 Premier League games so far this term.
Chelsea FC are currently sixth in the Premier League after their 2-0 loss to Everton on Sunday.
