Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard breaks silence about Real Madrid speculation
The Chelsea FC winger speaks out about uncertainty surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge amid interest from Real Madrid
Eden Hazard has insisted that neither Real Madrid nor any other club are waiting to sign the Chelsea FC forward in the summer.
The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants over the course of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
Hazard is a big admirer of the retired France international following Zidane’s glittering career at the Spanish club.
The 28-year-old’s current Chelsea FC contract will expire at the end of the 2019-20 season, when Hazard will be available on a free transfer.
The Blues haven’t been able to make much progress in securing Hazard’s long-term future at the west London outfit.
However, Hazard himself has now insisted that he is concentrating on helping Chelsea FC to win the Europa League and secure a return to the Champions League.
“At the moment there’s nobody waiting for me,” Hazard is quoted as saying by Metro.
“We still have two important months with Chelsea. We can win the Europa League. We have to win the Europa League or we have to finish in the top four to play in the Champions League.
“I am only thinking about that (last two months with Chelsea FC), not about what might happen in two, three, four months.
“I don’t know. We will see.”
Hazard has been one of Chelsea FC’s best players in an otherwise inconsistent first season under Italian head coach Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues are in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of Arsenal with eight games left to play.
Chelsea FC will take on Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals next month.
