Dimitar Berbatov believes that Manchester United have a great chance of winning the Champions League this season.

The Red Devils enjoyed one of the biggest European victories in their history on Wednesday night when they claimed a 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain to secure their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has rightly been earning lots of praise for the impact he has had since he took over from Jose Mourinho on an interim basis back in December.

Manchester United are unbeaten in the Premier League and the only blip on the Norwegian’s record is the 2-0 loss to PSG in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 clash.

The Red Devils will find out their opponents for the quarter-finals of the Champions League when the draw is made next Friday 15 March.

And former Spurs and Manchester United star Berbatov feels that no team will want to come up against Manchester United in their current form.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Berbatov said: “No one’s going to dare write United off anymore, are they? As the saying goes, ‘Respect the giant, otherwise you’ll suffer’.

“Their players will have been saying, ‘we’ll take anyone next’ in the dressing room on Wednesday, and they’re proving week after week that they’re a match for anyone.

“Both they and Spurs have a chance of winning the Champions League now – they’re in the last eight, so why not?

“Spurs are gaining more experience in the competition every season and they have great attacking talent, with Dele Alli returning soon to complement Kane, Son and Eriksen.

“A bit of luck in the draw and you never know.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Arsenal at The Emirates.

The Red Devils are currently fourth and a point ahead of Unai Emery’s side with nine games left to play.
