Eden Hazard admits Chelsea FC stars ‘sad’ after Wolves draw
Eden Hazard gives his reaction to Chelsea FC's 1-1 draw with Wolves on Sunday afternoon
Eden Hazard has admitted that Chelsea FC’s players were left “sad” by their frustrating 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Blues dropped two vital points in the race for Champions League qualification as Hazard netted a late equaliser to rescue a point for Maurizio Sarri’s men at Stamford Bridge.
The result left the Blues in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who were 2-0 winners over Manchester United on Sunday.
Hazard admitted after the game that the Blues did not move the ball quick enough as he lifted the lid on the post-match atmosphere in the dressing room.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Hazard said: “Of course we are disappointed. We didn’t create a lot of chances and we moved the ball too slowly.
“This type of game, maybe three months ago we’d have lost.
“The spirit is good. When we lost 6-0 to Manchester City, we said there were three or four months left and we have to try and finish in the top four.
“The players are a bit sad, because we probably could do better.”
Hazard has been in decent form for Chelsea FC this season, scoring 13 goals and making 11 assists in 28 Premier League outings.
The Blues will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton.
Chelsea FC are looking to break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last season, before Maurizio Sarri was brought in as his replacement last summer.
