Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to win to nil against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Reds will make the short trip across Stanley Park in pursuit of successive Premier League victories this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were 5-0 winners against Watford at Anfield on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Divock Origi in an impressive performance.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping the Reds to secure another Premier League win without conceding a goal at Everton on Sunday afternoon as they look to take another step closer towards winning the title.

“Liverpool go into Sunday’s Merseyside derby unbeaten in their last 18 games against their local rivals although Everton gave Jurgen Klopp’s side a real test at Anfield when only a freakish late winner from Divock Origi separated the sides,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Both teams had comfortable midweek wins, but the Blues are not in the same form as they were when the sides met in December and they have already lost at home to Spurs and Manchester City so far this season with Chelsea, United and Arsenal still to come to Goodison.

“Whatever the result of the game at the Vitality Stadium 24-hours earlier, I believe Liverpool will be top of the table come Sunday night.”

Everton ended a three-game losing run in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Cardiff City in Wales on Tuesday night.

Liverpool FC are looking to win their first Premier League title this season after finishing in second place on three previous occasions.

The Reds – who are yet to win a trophy under Klopp -have 10 games left in their title challenge to get over the line as Manchester City look to retain the Premier League crown for the first time.
