Paul Merson is backing Chelsea FC to ease to a resounding 4-0 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Blues have endured a mixed week in domestic competitions to fuel speculation surrounding Maurizio Sarri’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC lost to defending Premier League champions Manchester City on penalties in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley last weekend.

The biggest talking points of the showpiece wasn’t Chelsea FC’s resilient performance but Kepa Arrizabalaga’s refusal to be substituted.

Sarri dropped the world’s most expensive goalkeeper for the midweek visit of Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Pedro Rodriguez broke the deadlock with a precise finish before Kieran Trippier’s own goal sealed a 2-0 home win for the Blues.

Fulham, on the other hand, have lost five of their last six games in the Premier League to leave promoted side in the drop zone.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Chelsea FC to secure a resounding win against the Cottagers in the west London derby on Sunday afternoon.

“Chelsea. How many? How many do you want?” Merson told Sky Sports.

“Chelsea have turned a corner, raised the bar and set an example. I expect them to go here and win this comfortably. These two are chalk and cheese.

“It looked like Fulham downed tools the other night, they didn’t look interested, and looked like a relegated team.

“If they play like that against Chelsea, who are far better than Southampton, it’s going to be a comfortable result.”

Chelsea FC are looking to secure a fourth-place finish in Sarri’s first season in charge of the west London side.

Sarri took over the reins from his compatriot Antonio Conte last summer after the ex-Juventus boss could only lead the Blues to a fifth-placed finish.
