Gary Lineker hailed Liverpool FC’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur as a “big” moment in the club’s season.

The Reds welcomed Tottenham to Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening, knowing that a win would hoist them above Manchester City in the table.

Liverpool FC looked to be in charge of the Premier League clash when Roberto Firmino guided a header past World Cup winner Hugo Lloris.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side were in big trouble when Lucas Moura levelled with 20 minutes to go, handing the momentum to the visitors.

However, Liverpool FC restored their lead in added time when Lloris couldn’t hold onto Mo Salah’s header and the loose ball rebounded off Toby Alderweireld and into the net.

Liverpool FC moved two points clear of Manchester City thanks to their dramatic winner, while Tottenham remain in third but level on points with Arsenal.

Former Spurs striker Lineker took to Twitter to react to a huge goal in the context of Liverpool FC’s title race.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “As goals go, that one was huge for @LFC. Huge.”

Manchester City will take on Cardiff City in their next Premier League game at The Etihad on Wednesday night.

The Merseyside outfit will take on Southampton in their next Premier League clash at St Mary’s on Friday.
