The Reds are involved in the Premier League title race with seven games to go following their 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage last time out.
Liverpool FC are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and two points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season, having conceded 18 times in 31 games.
Alisson has kept 17 clean sheets in his debut season in English football following a £67m move to Liverpool FC from AS Roma last summer.
His introduction to the Premier League has undoubtedly been helped by Van Dijk’s presence after Liverpool FC signed the world’s most expensive defender from Southampton in January 2018.
The Brazil international and Van Dijk had a mix up at Craven Cottage that lead to Ryan Babel’s equaliser before James Milner stepped up to score the winner from the spot.
Former Liverpool FC captain Souness believes Alisson and Van Dijk have helped Liverpool FC to make big improvements this term.
“People will point out if they don’t win the league or Champions League that it’s another year without winning a trophy, but each year they have got better and better. They have made a quantum leap this year by signing Virgil van Dijk and Alisson,” Souness told Sky Sports.
Souness added: “Nobody would want to play them and think they would have an easy ride and could boss them in any department. Great defensively, workaholics in midfield and three up front that can hurt you.”
Liverpool FC will host Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on Sunday 31 March.
