Jurgen Klopp says that Sadio Mane’s impressive recent run of form for Liverpool FC is down to the attacker’s work ethic.

The Senegal international has been Liverpool FC’s in-form player in recent weeks and has helped the Reds to regain their spot at the top of the Premier League table.

Mane, 26, has scored seven goals in his last five games for Liverpool FC to help the Reds move two points clear of Manchester City at the Premier League’s summit.

He netted Liverpool FC’s opening goal in their 2-1 win at Fulham last weekend as they took a step closer towards winning their first Premier League title.

Mane’s form has been in contrast to Mohamed Salah, who has struggled in recent games and has only scored once in his last 10 outings for Liverpool FC.

And Klopp does not believe that there is any secret behind Mane’s recent improved run for Liverpool FC.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Mane said: “He is in a really good moment, of course.

“Sadio played pretty much always like this but now he is always in the right spot in the right moment. In football it’s sometimes like this.

“The only thing he did when he was not always in the right spot was work and work and work. That’s exactly what Mo has to do, exactly the same: just work, do the right things and it will come again.

“He’s just rather unlucky, where Sadio is lucky in the moment – he is in brilliant shape, that’s true.

“But then, he is in the right shape and maybe a yard away from him is Mo, but somebody else scored; the cross from Robbo [at Fulham], I’m pretty sure Mo would have scored if Gini doesn’t get the ball.

“These moments… I was a striker, I had that as well, you think, ‘Oh’ and then somebody else missed the chance. That’s how it is, all good.

“But, of course, it’s a brilliant moment for him [Mane].”

Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday 31 March.

They are two points clear of City but have played a game more than Pep Guardiola’s men as the race for the title approaches its conclusion.
