Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool FC will not embark on a big spending spree in the summer transfer window.

The Reds are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as they consider adding to their squad ahead of next season.

Liverpool FC are currently second in the Premier League table and just a point behind Manchester City as they look to try and win their first major trophy under the German coach.

The Merseyside outfit did not make any new signings in the January transfer window as Klopp opted to stick with what he has got at Anfield.

And the Liverpool FC boss has hinted that the Reds will not be spending big in the summer transfer window at the end of the season either.

Klopp is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail: “I don’t think this is a team at the moment where we have to spend the big money.

“The best way to do it is to bring together a group of players, try to develop them together and then stay together for a while.

“And that was maybe the main problem at Liverpool for the last decade. When they had a good team, after a season they went all over the world. That will not happen this year, for sure.”

Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their trip to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds are second in the table and a point behind Manchester City, and they know that a win at Craven Cottage would move them up to top spot and two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s men, who are in FA Cup action this weekend.
