Andy Robertson fires Liverpool FC warning at Man City
Andy Robertson gives his thoughts on the Premier League title race after Liverpool FC's win over Burnley
Andy Robertson has warned Manchester City that Liverpool FC are relishing trying to catch them in the Premier League title race.
The Reds kept to within one point of the Premier League leaders on Sunday thanks to their 4-2 win over Burnley at Anfield in the top flight.
The result left Liverpool FC in second place in the Premier League table and a point behind the defending champions with eight games left to play this season.
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they travel to Fulham looking to keep pace with the Citizens.
And left-back Robertson is feeling excited as the Premier League title race begins to approach its conclusion.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website on Sunday, Robertson said: “It’s another game down, eight to go. It’s going to be exciting one way or another.
“I’ve said in all the interviews I’ve done, we need to give 100 per cent in every single game and whether it gets us a trophy or it doesn’t, we need to deal with that.
“The position we’re in now, one point behind with eight games to go, if we perform like that – especially with our attitude – then it’ll stand us in good stead.
“We’ve got some tough games coming up but we look forward to the chase and hopefully we can push them all the way.”
Before their trip to Craven Cottage next weekend, Liverpool FC will return to Champions League action on Wednesday night when they travel to Bayern Munich for the return leg of their last 16 clash.
The Reds were held to a frustrating goalless draw by the Bundesliga side last month in the first leg.
