Robbie Savage has praised Alisson Becker for the speedy way he has adapted to life at Liverpool FC.

The Brazil goalkeeper has been a regular fixture in the Liverpool FC team since his move to Anfield from AS Roma last summer.

Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to recruit the shot-stopper after Loris Karius endured a nightmare in the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid last May.

Alisson has started all 31 of Liverpool FC’s Premier League games so far this season and he has been partly responsible for helping the Reds to keep the best defensive record in the top flight.

And former midfielder Savage has pointed to the time it took the likes of David De Gea to settle into life at Manchester United as underlining how well Alisson has adapted.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mirror, Savage said: “Last season, Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final was all about their front three.

“This year, their challenge has been built on rocks at the back.

“As well as the full-backs, I have been hugely impressed with the way Alisson has enjoyed such a composed first season in the Premier League.

“Even David De Gea did not settle instantly at Manchester United, so don’t underestimate the fact Alisson has conceded only 18 goals in 31 Premier League games.”

Alisson will be hoping to keep another clean sheet on Sunday when Liverpool FC welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Anfield.

The Reds are currently top of the table and two points clear of Manchester City, although Klopp’s men have played a game more than the Citizens.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will travel to Fulham on Saturday afternoon in the top flight.
