Steven Gerrard sends message to Liverpool FC stars about title race
Steven Gerrard has his say on Liverpool FC's current position in the Premier League title race
Steven Gerrard is desperately hoping that Liverpool FC will be able to win the Premier League title this season.
The Reds are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table as they look to wrestle the trophy away from Manchester City.
Liverpool FC have played a game more that Pep Guardiola’s men, with the title race looking set for an enthralling conclusion.
Gerrard came close to winning the Premier League title in the 2013-14 campaign, but Liverpool FC ended up being pipped to the trophy by Manchester City.
And the former Reds midfielder, who is now in charge of Rangers, says he is keeping a close eye on how things are unfolding at Anfield.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Liverpool FC’s website, Gerrard said: “Believe me, I’m still feeling the pressure!
“It’s in the back of my mind – I’ve got a day job now and all my focus is obviously on Rangers, but I’ve got one eye on Anfield.
“I just hope the lads can go and get us over the line because I’d be the happiest man in the world.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Lilywhites have suffered a dip in form in recent weeks and have lost three and drawn one of their last five Premier League games to leave them just a point ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal.
