Liverpool FC are interested in a potential deal to sign Middlesborough striker Bilal Brahimi, according to a report.

Website TEAMtalk is reporting that the Reds are keen on the 19-year-old despite Brahimi making a mere one appearance in the current campaign.

The same article states that Liverpool FC will face competition from their Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

According to the same story, Ligue 1 side Rennes are also interested in a swoop to sign the Parisian-born teenager ahead of the summer transfer window.

Middlesbrough signed Brahimi from Portuguese LigaPro side Leixões in 2017 after the youngster represented various Parisian-based youth teams.

The French teenager made his first appearance for Middlesbrough in a 2-1 victory over Rochdale in the League Cup back in August.

Brahimi has racked up the majority of his appearances in the current season for Middlesbrough’s second string team in the Premier League 2 Division 2.

Liverpool FC were 2-1 winners against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and James Milner.

The Reds hoisted themselves above Manchester City thanks to their narrow win in west London to lead the defending champions by two points in the title race.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will return to Premier League action with a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 31 March.
