Liverpool FC and Everton are both interested in a potential deal to sign Diego Llorente in the summer transfer window, according to a report in Spain.
Basque newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo, is reporting that the two Merseyside clubs are interested in the 25-year-old.
The same article states that Liverpool FC are preparing a potential offer thought to be in the region of £25m for the Real Sociedad defender.
According to the same story, Llorente has a contract release clause of £48m, but Real Sociedad would be open to selling for less than that figure.
The Liverpool Echo go on the shed light on Klopp’s summer transfer plans by revealing that the Reds boss is eager to bolster his defence.
However, the Merseyside media outlet add that Everton manager Marco Silva is also eager to improve his back four after a challenging first season at Goodison Park.
Klopp has contended with an injury crisis in his defence this season, with Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez currently out sidelined with fitness problems.
Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also spent spells on the sidelines due to injuries this term.
