Liverpool FC target deal to sign 22-year-old Celta Vigo forward – report
Liverpool FC are keen on a deal to sign Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo, according to reports
Liverpool FC are planning a move to try and sign Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez after Luis Suarez recommended the forward to his former club, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Reds are exploring the possibility of a summer deal to try and sign the 22-year-old after Suarez “told pals” at Anfield that the attacker is the “real deal”.
The same story says that the young Uruguay international is also wanted by Chelsea FC this summer, and that he is expected to command a transfer fee in the region on £35m.
Gomez has been in good form for Villarreal this season and he has scored nine goals and made five assists in 22 La Liga games for the Spanish club so far.
According to the same article, the reported interest from Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC is set to leave West Ham United “gutted”, as they targeted Gomez in January and were ready to make another move in the summer.
The same article says that Chelsea FC want another option if Gonzalo Higuain returns to Juventus following his loan spell at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday with a home clash against Burnley.
