The World Cup winner was forced off in the first half of the goalless stalemate due to a hamstring injury.
Mata was forced to sit out Manchester United’s sensational 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain last week as the Red Devils booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The 30-year-old made the trip to The Emirates last weekend and Mata was sat in the stands as Arsenal inflicted upon Manchester United a first Premier League defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed a 2-0 win to deliver a blow to Manchester United’s top-four prospects.
Writing on his personal blog, Mata provided an update on his fitness status ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Wolves in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
“Today I am writing this from home in Manchester,” Mata said. “It is has been another different week, without being able to play, but there are reasons to be optimistic.
“On Friday I was able to put in some work out on a pitch again and my recovery is progressing as hoped. Hopefully I can rejoin the team soon.”
Manchester United are in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Arsenal, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
The Red Devils are awaiting to learn their Champions League quarter-final opponents after their aggregate win over PSG last week.
