Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Anthony Martial will be fit to line up for Manchester United’s clash against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

The France international has been sidelined with a groin problem since Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash last month.

Martial had to watch their second leg heroics from the comfort of his home mid-week after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford sealed a stunning 3-1 in Paris and their progression to the last eight.

The 23-year-old has been in good form since Solskjaer took over the reins from Jose Mourinho in December.

Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic were also absent from the 3-1 win as Fred and Scott McTominay started in midfield.

Eric Bailly was forced off in the first half in Paris on Wednesday night with a suspected injury after a difficult start to the second leg for the Ivory Coast international.

Solskjaer confirmed that Bailly and Martial are available for the trip to Arsenal, while the interim Manchester United manager is hoping Herrera or Matic will be ready for the north London clash.

“Eric’s fine,” Solskjaer told his pre-match media conference at Carrington on Friday.

“Anthony will be available and, hopefully, we’ll have Nemanja and/or Ander ready as well, so we’re looking better for it. They just need to have another couple of days’ training with the team. They’ve done well in their recovery work.”

Martial has scored nine goals and has made two assists in 20 games in the Premier League this term in what has been a stop-start season for the ex-Monaco forward.
