Romelu Lukaku has lifted the lid on the fastest player in the Manchester United squad.

The Red Devils have managed to rekindle some decent form over the past few months following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager.

Manchester United were often accused of ponderous performances under Jose Mourinho with a real lack of pace in the team.

However, Solskjaer has managed inject some pace into the Manchester United line up by selecting Marcus Rashford in a centre-forward role.

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have offered some speed on the wing to help create space and open up opposition defences.

But Manchester United do appear to lack some real pace in midfield, with players such as Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata not known for their searing speed.

Lukaku, though, believes he is more than capable of shifting through the gears when he is selected to play in the Manchester United team.

Asked during an interview with MUTV to name the quickest player in Solskjaer’s squad, Lukaku pointed at the camera and said: “And people call me slow!”

Lukaku scored twice in Manchester United’s impressive 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at Parc des Princes earlier this month.

The Belgian forward has netted 12 times in 27 games in the Premier League this season.
