Alexis Sanchez issues update for Man United fans
Alexis Sanchez opens up about his struggles at Manchester United this season
Alexis Sanchez has underlined his desire to regain top form at Manchester United.
The Chile international has struggled to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils since his arrival at the club from Arsenal in the 2018 January transfer window.
Sanchez has seemingly failed to get to grips with life at Old Trafford and he has seen his playing time restricted as a result in recent weeks.
The 30-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury, with the attacker having only scored one goal and made three assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season.
He has only started eight times in the Premier League and will be keen to try and force his way back into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side before the end of the campaign.
Now, the attacker has opened up about his situation at Old Trafford and spoken about his desire to step things up.
Speaking in an interview with Inside United, Sanchez said: “I want to keep showing my love for football. I know what I can do. I have belief in my ability.
“United are such an important club, not only in England but on a global level, and I would love to help bring a trophy to the supporters.
“Obviously, I want to make the United fans really happy. I want to score goals. I want to bring them joy. I want to win silverware.
“When we lost last year’s FA Cup final to Chelsea, I was not happy. Not happy at all. In fact, I was sad because I just wanted to make our wonderful supporters happy.
“When I was younger, I liked United. I swear. As a small child I liked United, I really liked them and I want to show this and bring the people joy because, obviously, I want to win.”
Manchester United are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
They were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday night when they suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Wolves in the quarter-finals.
