Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes claim about Man United’s loss to Arsenal
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his Man United team did not deserve to lose to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that his Manchester United team did not deserve to lose to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils lost 2-0 to the Gunners at The Emirates as Unai Emery’s side moved above them in the Premier League table.
Granit Xhaka fired the home side into the lead early in the first half, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dispatched his penalty in the second half to wrap up all three points for the north London side.
The result left Manchester United in fifth place and two points behind Arsenal with eight games left to play this season.
However, Solskjaer has claimed that his Manchester United side deserved more from the game after they ended up empty handed.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at The Emirates, Solskjaer said: “When you see the boys work as hard as they do, the attitude they show in training, today we were lethargic in the first 10-15 minutes, did not have the zip and we did not take the chances.
“Hopefully we will be ready for Wolves in the FA Cup next week.
“It has been fantastic so far but today is the the lowest we have been because we lost and missed the chance to put pressure on Spurs.
“We have won games we have not deserved to win and today we lost a game we did not deserve to lose.”
Manchester United will return to FA Cup action next weekend when they travel to Wolves in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
They will return to Premier League action on 30 March when they host Watford at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are looking to break back into the top four before the season is out as they aim to book their place in next season’s Champions League.
