Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives Man United Alexis Sanchez update
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals that Alexis Sanchez is due back at Man United this weekend to continue his injury recovery
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Alexis Sanchez is due back at Manchester United this weekend to continue his rehabilitation from injury.
The Chile international has been sidelined with a knee problem after he picked up the injury in the Premier League victory over Southampton last weekend.
Sanchez has been struggling for form at Old Trafford since his move to Manchester United from Arsenal in the January transfer window last year.
It remains to be seen exactly when the 30-year-old will make his return to action for the Red Devils – but he is due back at Carrington this weekend to continue his recovery.
Solskjaer has now delivered the latest update on Sanchez’s situation as he looks to get back fit as quickly as possible.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Solskjaer said: “Alexis is coming back on Sunday.
“He’s not been on grass yet. He’s been seeing his people in Barcelona… he’s still a few weeks away so if we get to round about Everton, City, Chelsea… in that period he’ll probably be available.”
Asked if he is confident that Sanchez can rediscover his top form at Old Trafford, Solskjaer replied: “I hope so.
“You can never be 100 per cent sure but Alexis is such a determined lad, he loves football and is doing everything he can to get back and show his best side.”
Manchester United are currently fifth in the Premier League table as they look to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in their most recent Premier League outing last weekend.
