Man United legend Peter Schmeichel has a message for his former Red Devils team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Peter Schmeichel has challenged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to deliver trophies at Old Trafford after his appointment as permanent Manchester United manager.
Solskjaer signed a three-year deal with the 20-time English champions on Thursday morning to finally be confirmed as Jose Mourinho’s full-time replacement.
The former Manchester United striker has won 14 of his 19 games in all competitions since taking over the reins from his predecessor back in December.
Solskjaer has brought back the feel-good factor at Old Trafford, having managed to get the best out of players such as Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United have managed to win 10 of their 13 Premier League games to put them in the mix to finish in the top four this season.
The Red Devils won nine successive games on the road to underline their resilience under Solskjaer before a 2-0 loss to Arsenal at The Emirates in their last Premier League fixture.
Manchester United managed to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at Parc des Princes to set up a Champions League quarter-final meeting with FC Barcelona next month.
Former Red Devils goalkeeper Schmeichel dedicated a Twitter message to his old team-mate Solskjaer after the Norwegian’s appointment.
Schmeichel wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations my friend, it is well deserved. Up and onwards lets chase some trophies🏆 @ManUtd #MUFC”
