Rio Ferdinand has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be made the permanent manager at Manchester United.

Solskjaer has rightly been earning lots of praise for the impressive impact he has had at Old Trafford since taking over from Jose Mourinho on an interim basis back in December.

His side are unbeaten in the Premier League and they have been earning lots of praise for their impressive attacking displays since the Norwegian was brought in late last year.

Manchester United claimed a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young as the Red Devils kept up their bid to finish in the top four.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the table and a point behind fourth-placed Arsenal as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.

And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand clearly feels that Solskjaer should be handed the job on a permanent basis.

Ferdinand tweeted on Wednesday: “What a day it is to be in London… 33rd Floor @ @BTGroup Tower doing press… love it! Most asked question today: “Should Ole Get the @ManUtd job full time?” Simple Answer… YES!.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Southampton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are looking to at least finish in the top four under Solskjaer this season.
