Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he would love to see Manchester United sign both Gareth Bale and Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Red Devils are likely to already be thinking about the forthcoming summer transfer window as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

It remains to be seen whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will remain in charge at the club beyond this season, but the club’s hierarchy are no doubt already preparing for the transfer window.

Bale is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talents, while Sancho has been emerging as a top young prospect following his fine form for Borussia Dortmund.

And former Manchester United star Ferdinand has conceded that he would love to see his old club bring in both players this summer, claiming that the Red Devils could afford both.

Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT, Ferdinand said: “Sancho or Bale? I’d take both! Manchester United can afford both.

“They’re different players, you can’t compare them. One is at the beginning of his career and one is at the other end of his career.

“Sancho has huge potential, he can be anything he wants to be.

“And Gareth Bale, if you’re talking about having great moments in current football, big goals on big occasions, he’s up there in that sense.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Arsenal at The Emirates.

The Red Devils are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they seek Champions League qualification for next season under interim boss Solskjaer.
