Chris Sutton is backing Liverpool FC to win the Premier League title – and is expecting to see Manchester United break back into the top four this season.

Manchester United suffered a blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four on Sunday when they slipped to a disappointing 2-0 loss to Arsenal at The Emirates in the top flight.

That result left the Red Devils in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points behind Arsenal with eight games left to play.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC managed a 4-2 win over Burnley on Sunday to keep alive their hopes of winning the Premier League for the first time.

The Reds are currently second in the table and a point behind Manchester City as the race for the title hots up.

Former Chelsea FC man Sutton is tipping Manchester United to regroup after the loss to Arsenal and finish fourth, and he is tipping Liverpool FC to overtake Manchester City before the season is out.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sutton replied when asked to predict the top four: “Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs, Manchester United.

“Liverpool and Manchester City have the top two sewn up and it will be tight but I’m backing Pochettino to snap Spurs out of their tough run while Solskjaer will make sure United don’t dwell on the 2-0 loss at Arsenal.”

Liverpool FC will look to move ahead of Manchester City in the table on Sunday when they travel to Fulham, with Pep Guardiola’s men in FA Cup action this weekend.
