The Red Devils slumped to a surprise 2-1 loss to Wolves on Saturday night as they were dumped out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage at Molineux.
It was Manchester United’s second straight defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the Red Devils having lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League at The Emirates the week before.
Manchester United currently find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points behind Arsenal as they look to try and break back into the Champions League qualification spots before the season is out.
And Matic has talked up the importance of the Red Devils getting their form back on track as they look to catch Arsenal and Tottenham in the race for the top four.
Matic is quoted as saying by Metro: “We have to give our best now to reach the top four. We cannot let it go like this.
“There is a lot to play for. We have eight games to play in the Premier League and we are fighting for the top four. We have the Champions League as well. We will see what we are able to do and how much quality we have.
“Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will give their best to be in the top four. Everybody knows that. If you see two months ago we were 11 points behind Chelsea and now we are in a much better position.
“We have eight finals to play for us so we have to learn from this.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday 30 March.
They will take on FC Barcelona for a place in the Champions League semi-finals next month.
