Joao Felix replies when asked about summer move amid Man United reports
Benfica teenager Joao Felix addresses transfer speculation amid reported interest from Man United
Joao Felix has refused to rule out a potential big-money summer move amid reports linking the Benfica star with a switch to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old has been attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs over the past few months thanks to his excellent performances for the Portuguese side.
Felix has scored 10 goals and has made five assists in 23 games in Liga NOS to impress in the senior side despite his lack of first-team experience before the 2018-19 campaign.
The Portuguese teenager has made a further five appearances in Uefa competitions in the current campaign to get vital European experience under his belt.
Manchester United are expected to face competition from some top clubs, with FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC all previously linked with Felix.
Asked about a potential lucrative move in the 2019 summer transfer window, Felix expressed his desire to play for a top European team despite insisting he’s happy at Benfica.
“My dream has always been to play for the big teams and in the big competitions,” Felix is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
“But I’m here and I’m very happy with Benfica, which, like those teams, is also a big one in Europe.”
Manchester United booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals thanks to a 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their last-16 tie.
The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table.
