Man United hope Marcus Rashford will sign £150,000-a-week deal – report
Manchester United are increasingly confident Marcus Rashford will commit to a new long-term deal, according to a report
Manchester United are hoping that Marcus Rashford will consider signing a new five-year deal after holding “positive talks” with his representatives, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are becoming increasingly confident that the England international will put pen to paper on a contract worth £150,000 a week.
The same article states that Rashford stands to double his wages if the 21-year-old decides to commit to a long-term deal that would see the striker remain at Old Trafford until 2024.
According to the same story, the Manchester United forward has a positive relationship with the club’s new permanent manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rashford’s current deal will expire at the end of the 2019-20 season, which means the England star could become a free agent in little over 12 months unless Manchester United can strike an agreement.
The Salford-born striker has been in top form since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager back in December.
Heading into this weekend’s round of games, Rashford had netted two goals in his last three appearances, including the winner from the penalty spot in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Manchester United will take on La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals as the Red Devils look to win the competition for the first time since 2008.
