Manchester United will do everything possible to keep Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford beyond the summer, according to a report in England.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the Red Devils are no longer pursuing potential replacements for Pogba as Manchester United are confident that the France star will remain at Old Trafford.

The same article states that the 20-time English champions have cooled their interest in FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic due to their growing certainty that Pogba won’t be leave the club.

According to the same story, Manchester United are determined to hold onto Rashford and the Red Devils plan to block any moves from potential suitors to sign the England international.

The Evening Standard adds that the Red Devils are set to continue their contract negotiations with Rashford over a new contract in the coming weeks. Rashford’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2020.

Manchester United will return to Premier League action with a home clash against Watford on Saturday afternoon when Pogba looks to add to his return of 11 goals and nine assists in the current campaign.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Arsenal, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.

Manchester United will take on FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
