Manchester United have a slight advantage over Juventus in the race to sign Tanguy Ndombele, according to a report in Italy.
Italian media outlet Calciomercato is reporting that Juventus are interested in a deal to sign the Lyon midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs who are being linked with the 22-year-old.
According to the same story, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Manchester United and Juventus for Ndombele’s signature.
Calciomercato suggest that Premier League clubs have more financial muscle to meet Lyon’s asking price for Ndombele.
The same report goes on to suggest that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is likely to demand a transfer fee in the region of €75m and €80m.
Ndombele has been dubbed the ‘next Paul Pogba’ thanks to his excellent performances in Ligue 1 over the past 12 months or so.
The French midfielder has netted two goals and has made five assists in 32 appearances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season.
Manchester United lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday, while their bitter rivals Manchester City managed to ease past Swansea City in Wales.
The Red Devils will take on FC Barcelona in the Champions League last eight after the Spanish side beat Ndembele and his Lyon team-mates in the last 16.
