Real Madrid are keen to sign David De Gea from Manchester United this summer, according to reports
Real Madrid are keen on a move to sign David De Gea from Manchester United this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils could face a fight to keep hold of the Spanish shot-stopper after Zinedine Zidane’s return to the La Liga club.
According to the same report, Zidane is a “big admirer” of the goalkeeper and is keen to bring him to the Bernabeu as he sets about rebuilding his squad at the Spanish club.
De Gea, of course, came close to signing for Real Madrid back in 2015, but the proposed transfer fell through at the final hour.
According to the same story, Zidane has been promised a “mountain of cash” to spend on new signings this summer to back up the Frenchman’s plans to rebuild his squad.
And it is claimed that around £75m has been set aside to try and sign De Gea from Manchester United this summer.
The 28-year-old’s contract at Manchester United is set to expire at the end of next season and he has not yet signed a new deal with the Red Devils.
De Gea is widely regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in European football and he has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils team this season.
