Charlie Nicholas is backing Wolves to book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a surprise win over Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are looking to reach consecutive FA Cup semi-finals after Manchester United finished as runners up in the competition last term.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men suffered their first loss in a domestic competition under the Manchester United interim manager last weekend.

The 20-time English champions slumped to a 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League at The Emirates to drop down to fifth place in the table.

Manchester United have already beaten both Arsenal and Chelsea FC by a two-goal margin in the English capital in the FA Cup campaign.

Wolves are in seventh place in the Premier League table but 14 points adrift of Manchester United in a brillaint first season back in the English top flight.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is tipping Manchester United to suffer a shock defeat by Wolves at Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“Wolves should have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this season easily,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “But they weren’t clinical enough.

“Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t change his team too much often, but this a serious competition Manchester United can go and win. Wolves have already beaten Liverpool. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be going for it but they do have injuries and issues at the back.”

Manchester United were 3-1 winners against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie earlier this month.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Arsenal in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
