The Gunners took a step towards securing a top-four finish in the Premier League on Monday night when they sealed an important 1-0 win over 10-man Watford at Vicarage Road.
Arsenal are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they seek Champions League qualification for next season.
The north London side are locked in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea FC as the race for the final two Champions League qualification spots hots up.
Former Manchester United defender Neville was very impressed by Arsenal’s display and the result against Watford on Monday night.
And the former England star underlined his belief that Arsenal are over-performing given that their squad is weaker than the likes of Chelsea’s overall.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Neville said: “I think I said before the game [against Watford], for them [Arsenal] to be where they are with a game in hand over Chelsea, navigating the Europa League… we’ve always talked about how difficult it is to play Thursday and Sundays.
“I think it’s a brilliant performance when you think of Chelsea and Manchester United have spent a fortune.
“Chelsea have the better squad, with Eden Hazard. Arsenal are nowhere near that.
“When you look at that Arsenal team… there’s a lot of questions to have answered.
“You think of Aaron Ramsey leaving, of Mesut Ozil, the defenders, the midfielders still don’t look right, you’re not convinced about the goalkeeper, the full-backs look like they could change every week and yet, he [Unai Emery] is getting that level of performance out them. I think it’s a brilliant performance.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for the return leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash against Napoli on Thursday night.
The north London side sealed a 2-0 win over the Serie A side in the first leg of the last eight tie last week at The Emirates.
