Owen Hargreaves is still tipping Manchester United to pip Arsenal to a top-four finish this season despite their loss to Wolves on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss at Molineux to hamper their hopes of finishing in the Champions League qualification spots this season.

The result left Manchester United outside of the top four as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been in good form in recent weeks and their 2-0 win over Newcastle United gave them a big boost in the race for the top four.

However, former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves is still tipping Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to claim the final two top-four spots this season despite their recent dips in form.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Hargreaves said: “Before Manchester United’s loss to Wolves I would have said they would be in the top four for sure but that result changes everything.

“Tottenham I think will be alright but Arsenal I think will miss out. Their home form is exceptional but away from home they are poor.

“I still think United will sneak in with Spurs and Arsenal and Chelsea will miss out.”

Arsenal – who have not finished in the top four for two years – will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they travel to Everton, looking to make it three wins on the spin in the Premier League.

Manchester United take on FC Barcelona in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night next week in the first leg of their quarter-final showdown.
